Ways People are Using Earth Mama Music

  • In support of historic research and preservation of World War II German POW site in Iowa, and translated to German for international peace efforts. Link to Algona POW site.
  • Japanese website (We haven’t got a clue what they’re using it for – Iie hanasanai Japanese!)
  • A teacher in Asheville, North Carolina uses it in her ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to make learning English fun
  • Folks in Florida use the Around The World With Earth Mama CD as “music to clean house by” keeps them peppy, moving and diminishing their Stuff!
  • Dance aerobics class in Lansing, MI use music from Love Large to exercise to
  • Earth Charter teachers in Indianapolis, IN use Earth Mama music to introduce major concepts in Earth Charter workshops
  • Congregation of sisters in Monroe, MI play Around The World and Love Large in the Memory Care Unit to stimulate movement and sound with their patients

  • St. Mary-Of-The-Woods College in Indiana uses songs from Love Large and Grass Roots in Earth Literacy Masters Degree program
  • Lots of parents use various songs from all the projects as bedtime/end of day music
  • Congregations of Women Religious in Canada, Ireland, France, U.S., Scotland and England have used “Standing On The Shoulders” in important commemorative ceremonies celebrating milestones in their respective orders

  • “We’ve Come A Long Way, Ladies” was performed at the White House [OK, OK it was a giant protest rally on a stage IN FRONT OF the White House, with hundreds of thousands (really) singing along. We were the act following Peter, Paul, and Mary what a thrill!]
  • In Nashville, TN “A Place In The Kingdom” from our first recording was sung by the congregation during the ordination ceremony for a new minister
  • “Butterfly” from Love Large has been chosen for use at many memorial services and is used widely in Unity Church congregation
  • At Cancer Relay For Life “Luminary Walk”
  • “A Small Star” has been used (1) in videos to educate communities about domestic violence (a hospital in Mason City, IA), (2) in video to further the work of the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help Jerry’s Kids, (3) in a Nebraska college to honor the Teacher of the Year, (4) widely at ceremonies to honor a valued volunteer or retiree, (5) at events to honor and encourage cancer survivors
  • “Standing On The Shoulders” and “A Small Star” are often used in graduation ceremonies
  • At weddings
  • Nature Centers and Retreat Centers frequently play a variety of Earth Mama songs for various purposes – many have begun selling the CD’s in their bookstores and gift shops!
  • Used by Radio FEDRA in Serbia and Montenegro to help rebuild the former Yugoslavia
  • The song “Every Day Is Earth Day” (from Around The World With Earth Mama) plays on the voice-mail at White Violet Eco-Justice Center in Indiana.
